The resident drummer
at Tiffanys was a huge football fan. When he was attending
world cup matches, a guy named Stuart
Tosh would fill in on drums. Stuart locked in
very quickly with David and ended up heading down to
Craighall Studios to replace
David's banging on suitcases with some real drum licks
on some of the demos. Ian also added a few guitar licks
of his own, most notably on Billy's Just
Let Me Be. Demos sent to record companies received
no positive responses. It also looked as though Ian
would not be a part of anything to develop when he moved
to London to break into the business. He did take some
of the demos with him to shop around, but he had no
takers. But as Lady Luck would have it, it wouldn't
be the last David, Billy,
and Stuart saw of Ian.
