David's family was very close and often they would all go on vacation together; uncles, aunts, grannies, granddads and cousins were all welcome. The photo of David with the glasses on was taken on vacation in Germany with his cousins Evelyn, Dorothy, sister Nina and friend Maureen.

His sister Nina now lives in Majorca with her partner Bob. They run a nightclub and pub there. She can't sing for toffee but that doesn't stop her trying. His oldest daughter Sara has been working with them and mum and husband Arthur have just taken on an apartment there.
